Frequently asked questions:

♥️ RATES: Amata's hourly rate for custom tattoos is 100$/hour with a 1 hour minimum for all tattoos. Flash designs are priced by piece, regardless of time. If a touch-up is needed it must be scheduled within 2 months of the tattoo, a touch-up does not include design changes or additions. After two months you will be charged the regular hourly rate for any work.    Tips are not expected but always appreciated. :)

❤️ ATTENDANCE / DEPOSIT POLICY: There is a non-refundable $100 (one hour) deposit required to schedule an appointment so be sure you are committed to your design and time/date. Deposits are deducted from your final tattoo session. 

If you:

• no-show an appointment, 

• fail to give 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment,

• take longer than 90 days to reschedule the appointment,

• reschedule more than 3 appointments,

• or the tattoo project is totally cancelled by either party,

your deposit will be forfeit. In this case a new deposit will be required to schedule an appointment. The only exceptions to this are serious illness or pregnancy.  

❤️ ARTWORK: Custom tattoo designs will be reviewed with you on the day of your appointment or may be drawn directly on the skin. No artwork is sent out ahead of time. While this may be stressful, there will be adequate time to review the design and make final adjustments. We appreciate your patience and trust. Please be specific at consult time to avoid miscommunications. For example, include important details such as specific dates, spelling, colors, etc. While minor design changes can usually be accommodated, major changes may cause your project to be rescheduled for redrawing even cancelled if the project cannot proceed and you will forfeit your deposit.  If at consult time we find I am not a good fit for your tattoo you may be referred to another artist to help you realize your dreams. Not every project is a good fit for the artist or client and we want you to get the best tattoo possible. 

❤️ AFTERCARE:  Follow these instructions for great healing:

• Leave the tattoo wrap 🩹 on for 1-5 days.  If you have Saran wrap instead, remove in 1 hour. 

• Remove wrap in the shower 🚿 and wash with clear, neutral soap 🧴 then pat dry with disposable towels 🧻.

• Using clean hands 👏, wash the area and apply a THIN layer of tattoo ointment or water based, non-scented lotion👏 2-4 times per day until healed. If you need a tattoo ointment we carry it in the shop. No Vaseline or Aquaphor please. 

• Sleep on clean sheets 🛏 and wear loose clothes 👕 over the area until healed.

• Avoid soaking the tattoo in water 🛁 for 2 weeks until healed. Showers are ok, no baths or swimming. 

• Peeling and itching is normal, don't scratch! 🤚Wash and apply more ointment. A light slap may help.

• Once healed use sunscreen SPF 30 of higher to protect the tattoo from premature fading and spreading. 

*If your tattoo is becoming more red and swollen, has increased pain, or develops bumps or discharge you may be having a reaction or infection. Please contact your tattoer and your doctor 🏥.
